Here's the progress so far:
As you can see, I have both cuffs (which are too long) and half of the front done. The white stuff is the waste canvas I'm using to keep my stitches even - in theory..

Of course, when working on a deadline (August 13!), it's good to have something to distract you from what you really need to be doing:
You'll notice that the purple of the socks is the same purple as Dan's shirt. And the blue is the same color as one of my skirts. I am justifying working on the socks because they are now my official "gypsy fest socks," to be worn under this year's garb. So goes the course of madness. Now in addition to all the embroidery, I have to finish knitting socks.
